The Sewing Circle group was organized in 1918 and has evolved over the years. Today a group of women and men meet on the first Tuesday of every month (except July & August) to quilt and knot comforters, most of which are given to MCC Relief. Each year a number of quilts are given to the Relief Sale Auction.
Quilts are occasionally quilted for individuals with the corresponding donations going to various charitable projects, including those addressing local needs.
On our Tuesday sewing circle day a lunch break is always enjoyed together with coffee and tea and is followed by a devotional time. Warm lunches and distinct offering projects occur on special occasions throughout the year, including Christmas.
Although our regular meeting time has been suspended due to Covid-19 we do look forward to meeting again when that is possible.
