This summer Tracey Kropf is completing her time as Congregational Chairperson, Greg Leis his time as Lay Minister of Mission, Tyler Yantzi his time as Lay Minister of Worship and Dana Hyde her time as Lay Minister of Christian Education and Nurture. We are so grateful for their years of service and for the extra year each of them gave through the pandemic. They all feel it is time to complete their terms. Gloria Roth is also completing her time as a Care Team member. We are grateful for her 2 terms of service. We will be looking for a female replacement member for Care Team.
We invite your prayerful discernment and your nominations for these 5 leadership positions. Your support through prayer and nominations will support the work of our Gifts Discernment Committee as we begin the process of calling people to serve in these roles.

Please note that this year no funds will be sent until camps can confirm their programming depending on Covid-19 restrictions in place. Sunday May 16th 1-3 p.m. MCEC Junior Youth Retreat
This year MCEC will be hosting a virtual Jr. & Sr. Youth retreat on zoom. Typically in May, MCEC runs a Jr. Youth retreat at Silver Lake Mennonite Camp. Given the pandemic this event will be hosted virtually this year. It will also be offered to Sr. Youth as well. There will be time spent all together in worship and plenty of time in break out groups for games and activities. Joining in the journey of MCEC listening to God, the theme of this virtual retreat is courageous imagination. There is no cost for this event. More details are available on MCEC’s website.

The Board of Shalom Counselling Services has named Susan Schwartzentruber as the next Executive Director effective May 31, 2021. Susan brings a solid background in both clinical social work and management to the position and is currently the Clinical Director at Shalom. Susan is replacing Wanda Wagler-Martin who is stepping down from the role on June 30, 2021, a role she has so capably filled for 24 years.
